Step 2: Make a Family Emergency Plan
In addition to having an Emergency Preparedness Kit, every
Canadian household needs an emergency plan.
It will help you and your family know what to do in case of an emergency
by providing
important names, contact information and medical information and details on
where to go in the event of an emergency.
This isn't as hard as it sounds, and the Government of Canada has created a handy-dandy online plan creator that takes only about 20 minutes of your time. You can complete it online or download a PDF of the Government of Canada's 72 hour Emergency Preparedness guide and complete it by hand. Most of this information can be filled out on your own. You may need to get some information from your municipality.
